emily gherard paintings

On this oh so dreary Friday, I give you Emily Gherard's paintings. I'll let them speak for themselves.

lapaperie print shop on etsy

Kaitlin Rebesco's New York photos make me nostalgic for the city, even though I haven't lived there in almost 14 (!) years. My favorites are the slightly off-kilter ones, though her more "iconic"-style images are nicely done as well.

poster cabaret

Jason Munn

We've owned a couple of Jason Munn prints for several years now, and I love his style: spare and quirky. So I was so happy to find that Poster Cabaret, a gallery in collective in Austin, carries a whole bunch of his indie-band concert posters...along with plenty of fun prints from artists with a similar aesthetic. Prices are low and the selection is excellent. Here are a few of my favorites:

Marisa Haedike
Methane Studios

kari herer on etsy

Kari Herer's botanical photos look much more expensive than they are. (Which is solidly in the Etsy, super-reasonable, homespun, direct-from-artist category.) They'd make any room instantly more sleek and glamorous. (Extra credit if you hang a bunch of them in a grid.) Her work is stunning in black and white:

She's also great with color. I especially like the extreme closeups:

happy new year (and carlos marchand kiosks)

Well, that was a long break! We spent a week in Florida, and at a random but styley strip-mall pizza place, these photos caught my eye. Carlos Marchand photographed beach kiosks in his native Brazil, and they're just the thing to get me through the deep freeze back here at home.

That amazing lion was my introduction to Jen Collins. (Via Pinterest, naturally.) Sadly, he was a one-off, and he's been sold (lucky buyer!), along with a fantastic tiger and bear. (Onwards is her new collection of tangible, 3D art, and a few sweet little pots are still available.) Thankfully, Collins sells prints, cards, even tote bags on Etsy as HelloJenuine, and they're as cute as Leo up there—who comes in paper form! See:

jennifer ament

I've given a few glimpses of her work before, but I've never focused on Jennifer Ament alone. Her linocut prints are fantastic—simple and pretty and just a little bit weird—and while you can find them elsewhere (aka Serena and Lily), her own beautifully designed website is definitely worth a look.

PS: She also paints, beautifully:

And I'm on record as being wary of word art, but this print made me laugh:
