club cinq children's clothing

Swiss-based Club Cinq makes children's clothes that are ridiculously gorgeous. Why doesn't someone do this here (so I don't have to pay crazy shipping costs)? Simple shapes, pale or neutral colors, a stripe or two? Throw in a bow here and there? (Immature observation: Doesn't the name "Club Cinq" sound like a strip club?)

plenty by yotam ottolenghi

You can buy it on amazon

RP is definitely more of the chef in our house. But I picked up this cookbook last night at Charlie's school book fair; I'd read about the Israeli/Italian/British chef Yotam Ottolenghi in the Times and was curious to check out his take on vegetarian food. (I admit I love to eat meat but, I'd also love to eat less of it.) Plenty is beautifully photographed and totally inspiring: unusual ideas and flavor combinations, with fairly simple execution and accessible ingredients—I'm buying quinoa this afternoon.

peter pan collars

This one from Warehouse also comes in white, yellow, and black
Top from Zara

I've seen some really cute ones out there lately—great with skinny jeans or a short skirt. And did you know Zara ships for free?

perch stacking cups

Cups in blue

Sorry to mention pretty ceramic home goods again. These stacking cups from Brooklyn-based Perch would be great in a bathroom or stacked (natch) on an open kitchen shelf. You could even mix a few of each color.

heath alabama chanin

Tableware from Heath's Alabama Chanin line

I've written before about Heath's simple, beautifully made pottery. I checked its website recently and noticed this new (?) collaboration with Natalie Chanin, who's gotten all sorts of attention for her high-end Alabama-based line of super-detailed clothing and home goods. Look at the details on this serving bowl

and this plate

and while you're there, check out these amazing red espresso cups, bowl, and bud vases:

leah duncan floral wall calendar

2012 calendar

This stylized print by Leah Duncan is so pretty—I'd almost prefer it without those pesky dates at the bottom.

neither snow calligraphy

From the excellent and inspiring blog Sunday Suppers

Now that I've taken one class, it's like I'm a calligraphy aficionado or something. Or not: I just admire the pretty writing. Mara Zepeda's work is exactly what I wish I could do; I love the up-and-down baseline and the all-lowercase script. While her website is currently under construction, her blog is keeping me occupied—and inspired.

"thank you" for a first birthday party
Oh Joy featured Zepeda's work as well;
what a beautiful combination of flowing script and plain printing (and white on black)
Design Sponge showed these book covers
I'm going to try copying this (on Seesaw)
